Post-Operative Physio

Post-Operative Physio

We specialise in looking after a client’s post-operative rehabilitation, whether its upper limb, lower limb, or spinal. With extensive experience in working with orthopaedic consultants locally and in Londonā€™s leading orthopaedic hospitals, we look after a range of post-op clients from ACL reconstructions to subacromial decompressions to lumbar spine discectomies.

Our post-operative clients receive a collaborative approach. Our team will liaise closely with your consultant, delivering a unique and progressive approach to rehab. We understand the complexities of post-op rehab and often involving your consultant in those key milestones to recovery, is key when looking for success.

Depending on your goals, objectives, and medical history, we execute simple and complex assessments to understand and monitor progress. Having experience in rehabilitating a variety of simple and complex post-operative clients, we have invested in cutting edge equipment to facilitate your progressive rehab. In clinic we have:

  • Chattanooga Rehab: a neuromuscular electrical stimulation device, helping to stimulate a contraction within an atrophied muscle. A typical presentation postoperative. This technology accelerates the early phase of your recovery, assisting with pain and function.
  • VALD Blood Flow Restriction Training: an evidence-based approach to increasing strength and muscle mass whilst maintaining low levels of exercise intensity. A vital component to successful rehab, where you can accelerate your recovery within a safe environment, without compromising on the healing tissue’s integrity post-surgery.
  • VALD ForceDecks: industry leading technology to understand the biomechanics and performance of the upper and lower limb. An effective tool to assess, monitor and progress rehab. No more guessing…. we are driven by the numbers.
  • VALD DynaMo Plus: using the latest in strength and range of motion testing. We can gain insight into the current levels of oneā€™s strength and joint mobility. Precision in assessment enables us to understand your response to rehab and adapt your programme accordingly.

Each client has a unique programme to their rehab and every plan is driven by you, the type of surgery carried out, and your chosen goals. For those looking to return to exercise and sport post-surgery, we will monitor and assess your readiness to return to running, jumping and competing. During this process, we communicate with your consultant, providing clinical letters, feedback and results of your recovery. It is a collaborative approach.
