Headache / Migraine

Headache or migraine, physiotherapy can help to relieve symptoms, assess the likely cause and prevent future flare-ups. A migraine often presents on 1 side of the head and is associated with a throbbing headache, a feeling of nausea, and a sensitivity to light.

Although medication can be effective at managing headaches and migraines, our team utilise acupuncture, soft tissue techniques, and joint mobilisations to provide instant relief.

We must appreciate that although manual therapy is effective, it can be short-lived and therefore, we will always encourage a comprehensive exercise programme, often focussed on assessment findings. Exercise rehab for headaches and migraines typically involves Yoga and Pilates-based practice to improve postural awareness, cervicothoracic mobility, deep neck flexor strengthening and core strengthening.

We understand that physio isnā€™t always the answer, which is why we work closely with private general practitioners and neurologists to aid in the treatment of your condition.
